Defence is a complex, sophisticated and highly secured system driven by technology. In India, defence already harnesses a lot of IT infrastructure and enabled solutions in the fields of strategic, tactical, operational and logistics. However, they are distinctly different in form and architecture than their civilian counterparts. They require modification before they are adopted for Military use.
The track on IoT in Defence is structured to discuss and explore the use of IoT for various applications in the Military and Defence segments. The panel discussion will focus on the “Challenges in adoption of commercial IoT in Defence” by experts from Ministry of Defence, User Agencies, DRDO, DPSU and private industries and certification bodies. An expert talk on the possible future scenarios with Internet of Military Things & Internet of Battlefield Things will also be presented.

Smart grid and energy management solutions based on innovative IoT can help in effective management of energy assets and services in India.
The track will focus on the various challenges faced by the energy sector and explore IoT (Internet of Things) and GoT (Grid of Things) based solutions for efficient energy management and monitoring of transmission line assets. It will cover IoT based solutions and use cases for EHV transmission line management, predictive maintenance, smart distribution, asset management and electricity company revenue protection – technical and non-technical losses reduction. IoT based technologies and sensors that will enable predictive management of tower assets for reliable power supply will further be discussed.
